I know I post here so often....
That said, I know that a while back I read an article contrasting the "standard American" standards of active listening and those prevalent in either groups of geeks or the masses at sci-fi cons. (I know there's considerable overlap there, but I'm pretty sure it was one or the other.
I'm taking a communication class this quarter and the prof said he'd be interested in seeing it... and now I can't find it! Bother!
Can anybody help me?
(i'd almost bet money that I saw it on memegarden's blog at some point, but it's such a pain in the tush to go looking through back journal posts)

Hmm, that sounds familiar, although I'm thinking that it was [livejournal.com profile] lumiere who linked to it.

Try posting to rec.arts.sf.fandom and asking there.
